Proof Research Tac II
Proof Research · Rifle · In Production · 2014
Also known as: Proof Tac II, Proof Research Elevation Tac II
Overview
The Proof Research Tac II is a precision bolt-action rifle built around the company's signature carbon-fiber-wrapped steel barrel, which is up to 64 percent lighter than a comparable all-steel barrel while shedding heat more efficiently. The Tac II pairs a 416R stainless steel action with a Kevlar-and-carbon-fiber composite monocoque stock and feeds from Accuracy International AICS detachable magazines. Chambered primarily in 6.5 Creedmoor, the platform is offered across a range of precision and magnum calibers and barrel lengths.

Background
Proof Research was formed in 2012 in Columbia Falls, Montana, when Jense Precision and Advanced Barrel Systems combined to commercialize aircraft-grade carbon-fiber barrel technology. The carbon-wrapped barrel became the company's defining product, prized by long-range and backcountry shooters for cutting weight without sacrificing accuracy.
