PSA AK-P GF3 Pistol

Palmetto State Armory · Pistol · In Production · 2018

Also known as: PSA AKP GF3, AK-P GF3, PSAK-P GF3

Overview

The PSA AK-P GF3 is the pistol variant of Palmetto State Armory's American-made AK-47 GF3 ('Gen3 Forged'), a semi-automatic AK pistol chambered in 7.62x39mm. It pairs a shortened 10.5-inch nitrided 4150 steel barrel (1:9.5 twist, M24x1.5 RH threads capped with a Mini Krink muzzle brake) with the GF3's 1mm stamped steel receiver, hammer-forged front trunnion, bolt, and carrier. Lacking a buttstock, it ships either bare-receiver or fitted with an SB Tactical arm brace and Magpul MOE furniture. The compact package delivers intermediate 7.62x39mm ballistics in a maneuverable, close-quarters-oriented form factor, and its affordable price made a reliable domestic AK pistol widely available on the US market.

Notes

Pistol-length spin-off of the PSAK-47 GF3. Barrel is 10.5" (267mm) nitride 4150 steel, 1:9.5 twist, M24x1.5 RH threads with a Mini Krink brake. Offered in Classic Picatinny, MOE, MOE SBA3, and triangle side-folding brace configurations. Weight and overall length are estimated from the bare-receiver configuration and vary considerably by brace/furniture trim.

Background

PSA's GF3 ('third generation, forged') line finally gave American buyers a reliable, affordable domestic AK; the AK-P pistol version stripped the design down to a 10.5-inch barrel and no stock, becoming a popular budget entry into the AK-pistol and SBR-brace market.
