Overview
The PSA AK-V is Palmetto State Armory's 9x19mm blowback-operated AK, a US-made pistol-caliber take on the Kalashnikov platform introduced in 2019. Built on a 1mm stamped steel receiver with a forged front trunnion and a forged bolt and carrier, it pairs AK ergonomics and controls with a simple blowback action and a 10.5-inch nitrided 4150 barrel topped by a two-port 'tanker style' muzzle brake. Its defining feature is compatibility with CZ Scorpion magazines in addition to PSA's own AK-V magazines, giving access to inexpensive 30- and 35-round mags. The AK-V ships with a Picatinny top rail and hinged dust cover, an extended safety lever, a single-stage fire control group, a Magpul AK grip, and an SBA3 brace on a folding adapter. Offered as a braced pistol and in threaded-barrel variants, it became a popular budget 9mm AK/PCC alternative to the CZ Scorpion and MP5 clones.

Stamped 1mm receiver, forged trunnion and bolt/carrier. Sold as braced pistols (SBA3/SBA4) and threaded-barrel models; trigger averages ~3 lb. MSRP around $800.
Background
The AK-V gave the PCC market a true 9mm Kalashnikov at a budget price, and its clever decision to feed from ubiquitous CZ Scorpion magazines helped it carve a niche against pricier MP5 and Scorpion clones.
