Overview

The PWS MK216 MOD 2-M is a .308 Winchester/7.62x51mm NATO semi-automatic AR-10-pattern battle rifle introduced by Primary Weapons Systems at SHOT Show 2026. It uses PWS's long-stroke gas piston operating system, inspired by the AK-47 but built to AR-platform machining tolerances, and adds a proprietary integrated bore evacuator and a user-tunable adjustable gas block rated for 3,000 to 4,000 round suppressed maintenance intervals.

Notes

MOD 2 generation of the MK216 platform; the .308 model ships from late March 2026 with fully ambidextrous controls featuring enlarged paddle sizes. The -M suffix denotes the match-grade barrel configuration.

Background

PWS's long-stroke piston deliberately borrows the AK-47's rugged operating principle, then machines it to AR tolerances - the MOD 2 even bakes a bore evacuator into the barrel so it can run suppressed for thousands of rounds between deep cleanings.
