Overview
The Bolumburu Regina is a Spanish blowback-operated semi-automatic pocket pistol made by Gregorio Bolumburu of Eibar in the early 20th century. It is a Ruby-type (Eibar) design derived from the Browning FN Model 1903/1906 pattern, chambered primarily in 7.65mm Browning (.32 ACP) and fed from a single-stack detachable magazine. Like other Eibar Ruby-pattern pistols it features a concealed hammer, a heel-mounted magazine release, and longitudinal grooves at the muzzle for disassembly.

'Regina' was one of several near-identical trade names Gregorio Bolumburu applied to his Ruby-type pistols alongside Regent, Rex, Gloria, Giralda and Marina. Parts are generally not interchangeable between different Eibar makers.

To feed the French Army's WWI standing order of 10,000 Ruby-type pistols a month, Eibar makers like Bolumburu stamped their nearly identical guns with a flurry of glamorous trade names - Regina, Regent, Rex, Gloria - leaving collectors with a bewildering family of look-alike pocket pistols.
