Overview
The Remington Model 1890 New Model Army was the final iteration of Remington's single-action cartridge revolver line, evolving from the Model 1875 and the rare interim Model 1888. The 1890 dropped the prominent web beneath the ejector housing in an effort to more closely resemble the dominant Colt Single Action Army, and adopted checkered hard-rubber grips. Chambered exclusively in .44-40 Winchester with a six-shot cylinder, it was produced in very small numbers from 1890 to 1896.

Background
With barely 2,020 made before Remington exited the revolver business, the Model 1890 is so scarce that surviving examples in good condition can command more at auction than far more famous Colt Peacemakers of the same era.
