Remington Model 700 Alaskan Ti
Remington Arms · Rifle · Discontinued · 2005
Also known as: Remington 700 Alaskan Ti, Model 700 Ti
Overview
The Remington Model 700 Alaskan Ti is a lightweight bolt-action hunting rifle built on the Model 700 platform for backcountry and mountain hunting. Its defining feature is a titanium receiver, roughly half the weight of steel and impervious to weather, paired with a fluted magnum-contour stainless barrel, a spiral-fluted bolt body and a skeletonized bolt handle to shed weight. Bedded in a Bell & Carlson synthetic stock with an R3 recoil pad, the complete rifle weighs around 6.25 pounds, making it well suited to hard hikes into remote terrain while still chambering powerful hunting cartridges such as the .300 Winchester Magnum.

Background
Marketed toward Alaskan and mountain hunters who count every ounce, the Alaskan Ti used aerospace titanium in the receiver to cut weight without sacrificing the strength needed for belted magnum cartridges.
