Overview

The Rigby Falling Block is a single-shot rifle built around a true Farquharson falling block action, identical to John Farquharson's original 1875 patent design. Each rifle is hand-built to client specifications from Grade 7 deluxe Turkish walnut with Rigby's signature oil finish. It features a 25-inch lightweight barrel, Rigby pattern iron sights with stippled top to rib and sight blocks, London Best standard engraving, gold line on the rear sight, a silver oval inlay on the stock engraved with the owner's initials, a colour case hardened grip cap, and a retracting striker mechanism.

Background

The Farquharson falling block action, patented by Scottish inventor John Farquharson in 1875, was adopted by Rigby in the Victorian era and became synonymous with the finest single-shot sporting rifles of the British Empire.
