Overview

The Rizzini Grand Regal Extra is an Italian over/under break-action shotgun built by Battista Rizzini of Marcheno in the Val Trompia gunmaking district of Brescia. It sits at the top of the Regal line, built on a low-profile roundbody boxlock action with sideplates that carry a fully engraved, hand-finished receiver over a coin or case-hardened finish. The gun pairs automatic ejectors and a single selective trigger with chrome-lined barrels, a solid rib and five nickel-coated flush choke tubes, and is stocked in Grade 4 Turkish walnut with a pistol grip, 26 LPI checkering and a Boss-style forearm. Offered in 12, 16, 20, 28 gauge and .410 bore, it is intended as a premium upland and game shotgun.

Background

The Rizzini name traces to the Val Trompia gunmaking valley near Brescia, long the heart of Italian fine-gun craftsmanship; Battista Rizzini founded his firm there in 1966, and the Grand Regal Extra represents the most heavily engraved and finely stocked expression of his round-body over/under.
