Overview
The Rossi R92 is a Brazilian lever-action rifle manufactured by Amadeo Rossi S.A., a faithful reproduction of the classic Winchester Model 1892 originally designed by John Moses Browning. Chambered primarily in pistol-caliber cartridges such as .357 Magnum, .38 Special, .44 Magnum and .45 Colt, it feeds from a tubular magazine and uses an exposed-hammer lever action. Offered with 16, 20 and 24 inch round or octagonal barrels in blued, stainless and case-hardened finishes, the R92 is popular for cowboy action shooting, ranch and trail use, and close-range hunting.

Marketed in earlier US imports as the Rossi/Puma Model 92. Newer models add a cross-bolt or tang safety, and tactical variants such as the Triple Black offer threaded barrels, ghost-ring sights and Picatinny rails.
Background
The R92 traces its lineage to John Browning's Winchester Model 1892, the rifle most associated with Hollywood Westerns; Rossi's Brazilian-made reproductions kept the 1892 pattern alive and made it a mainstay of modern cowboy action shooting.
