Also known as: R95 Triple Black, Rossi R95 Triple Black 30-30

Overview

The Rossi R95 Triple Black is a blacked-out, tactical-leaning configuration of Rossi's R95 lever-action rifle, chambered in .30-30 Winchester. It pairs a compact 16.5-inch threaded barrel (5/8x24) with an all-black treatment - black-oxide steel over a darkened hardwood stock - and is built suppressor- and optics-ready. In place of the classic buckhorn rear sight, the Triple Black wears a peep (aperture) rear sight mounted on an extended Picatinny rail that runs along the top of the receiver, leaving plenty of room to mount a red dot or low-power optic while retaining iron sights. A drift-adjustable front sight, large-loop lever and oversized loading gate round out the package, making it a modern, handy take on the traditional big-loop lever gun for hunting, brush work and suppressed shooting.

Notes

Specifications reflect the Triple Black: 16.5 in (419mm) threaded barrel (5/8x24), overall length ~35.5 in (902mm), weight ~107.2 oz (~3039g), 1:12 in (305mm) RH twist, 6 grooves. Capacity 5 rounds of .30-30. Peep/aperture rear sight on a Picatinny rail; drift-adjustable front sight; large-loop lever; thumb safety plus transfer-bar safety. Finish is black oxide over a blacked-out wood stock. Suppressor- and optics-ready. Muzzle velocity/energy left null pending barrel-length-specific factory figures (the short barrel reduces velocity versus a 20 in tube).

Background

The Triple Black rides the 'tactical lever gun' wave that swept the market in the 2020s - taking a cartridge from 1895 and a action design older than smokeless powder, then bolting on a Picatinny rail, peep sights and a suppressor-ready threaded muzzle for shooters who want cowboy handling with modern accessories.
