The Ruger Hawkeye African is a dangerous game rifle featuring a controlled-round-feed action, express-style sights with brass bead front sight on a barrel band, and premium walnut stock with ebony forend tip. Designed for African dangerous game hunting in the magnum calibers developed jointly by Ruger and Hornady.

Background

The .375 Ruger and .416 Ruger cartridges were co-developed by Ruger and Hornady to deliver magnum performance from a standard-length action, eliminating the need for the longer magnum-length actions required by belted magnums.
