Overview
The Saiga-410 is a Russian gas-operated, semi-automatic smoothbore shotgun chambered in .410 bore. Developed by Izhmash and introduced in 1995, it adapts the proven Kalashnikov rotating-bolt action to a sporting and self-defense shotgun, retaining the AK-pattern receiver, charging handle, and safety lever. It feeds from detachable box magazines of 2, 4, or 10 rounds and accepts interchangeable muzzle chokes, firing buckshot and slug loads for small-to-medium game hunting and defense.

Background
The Saiga line was born from Izhmash's effort to put surplus AK production capacity to civilian use, mating the famously rugged Kalashnikov action to sporting shotgun and rifle cartridges. The compact .410 chambering makes the Saiga-410 one of the lightest-recoiling members of the family.
