Also known as: Sako 691, L691, Sako Model 691
Overview
The Sako M691 is a Finnish long-action bolt-action hunting and sporting rifle introduced in 1993 as the long-action member of Sako's numeric M-series (alongside the short-action S491 and medium-action M591). It uses a bolt with three symmetrical front locking lugs, feeds from a detachable box magazine, and is chambered for full-power and magnum sporting cartridges. Offered in Hunter, Deluxe, Carbine and other configurations with left-hand options, it served as the immediate predecessor to the Sako 75 that replaced it in 1997.

Background
The 691 was one of the last Sako designs before the company consolidated its short, medium and long actions into the modular Sako 75 platform, making surviving M-series rifles a niche collector favourite among Finnish rifle enthusiasts.
