Overview

The Sako P72 Finnscout is a Finnish .22 Long Rifle bolt-action rimfire sporting rifle produced by Sako from the early 1970s. Its 'P' designation is a Finnish abbreviation for pienoiskivaari (smallbore rifle). Fed by a five-round detachable box magazine and fitted with a checkered walnut Monte-Carlo stock, ramped hooded front sight and adjustable open rear sight, it was styled to echo Sako's larger centerfire Finnbear sporter as a premium-grade small-game and plinking rifle.

Background
