Overview
The Sauer S404 Synchro XTC is an ultra-lightweight German precision rifle featuring a carbon fiber-reinforced polymer stock and the renowned Sauer Quattro adjustable trigger. Weighing just 2.7 kg empty, it is one of the lightest modular bolt-action precision platforms available, making it exceptionally well-suited for mountain hunting and mobile tactical applications. The S404 platform features the SUS (Sauer Universal Key) system for rapid barrel and stock changes, allowing caliber conversion in minutes. Cold hammer forged barrels are guaranteed to deliver sub-MOA accuracy, and the adjustable comb provides a consistent cheek weld for precision optics use.

Notes
The S404 Synchro XTC was introduced as a high-end tactical/sporting variant of the S404 platform, emphasizing extreme weight reduction through carbon fiber construction. The Quattro trigger system allows adjustment of trigger pull weight, take-up, and let-off characteristics. Standard caliber barrels are 22 inches (560mm), while magnum caliber barrels extend to 24 inches (610mm). The SUS universal key allows barrel and stock changes with a single tool. Despite its hunting rifle origins, the S404 XTC's combination of extreme lightness, modular design, and guaranteed accuracy has attracted interest from tactical shooters who value mobility.
Background
J.P. Sauer & Sohn is one of the oldest firearms manufacturers in the world, founded in 1751 in Suhl, Germany. The S404 Synchro XTC represents the pinnacle of their engineering philosophy -- achieving maximum precision with minimum weight. The carbon fiber stock technology borrowed from the aerospace industry helps achieve a rifle weight that seems almost impossibly light for its capability.
