Overview
The Sauer WTM 28 is a German blowback-operated, striker-fired semi-automatic vest pocket pistol chambered in 6.35mm Browning (.25 ACP), produced by J.P. Sauer & Sohn of Suhl. Introduced in 1928 as the Westentaschen-Modell (vest pocket model), it was a compact, concealed-hammer design fed by a six-round detachable box magazine, developed to compete with the small Walther Model 8 and Model 9 pocket pistols of the era.

Background
"WTM" stands for Westentaschen-Modell, German for "vest pocket model" - a class of tiny .25-caliber pistols small enough to be carried discreetly in a waistcoat pocket, which Sauer built to answer the popular Walther vest pocket pistols of the 1920s.
