Overview
The Savage Model 16 is a stainless-steel bolt-action hunting rifle built on Savage's 110-series action. It is the stainless counterpart to the blued Model 10/110, pairing a corrosion-resistant stainless barrel and receiver with the user-adjustable AccuTrigger and Savage's floating bolt-head design for consistent lockup and accuracy. Chambered in popular hunting cartridges including the .270 Winchester, it is a lightweight, weatherproof rifle marketed for big-game hunting in harsh conditions.

The Model 16 shares its action with the Savage 110, one of the longest-running bolt-action rifle designs in production, originally designed by Nicholas Brewer in 1958.
