Seekins Precision Havak Element
Seekins Precision · Rifle · In Production · 2020
Also known as: Havak Element, Seekins Havak Element
Overview
The Seekins Precision Havak Element is an ultralight bolt-action mountain hunting rifle built on the company's Havak short and long actions. It is defined by an unusual lightweight barrel design that wraps a stainless-steel core in an aerospace-grade 7075 aluminum sleeve with a spiral-fluted Mountain Hunter contour, shedding weight without sacrificing rigidity. Mated to a slim carbon-fiber stock and a Remington 700 footprint that feeds from AICS-pattern detachable magazines, short-action models tip the scales around 5.5 lb and long-action models around 6.0 lb. The two-lug Havak action carries an integrated Picatinny rail, and barrels are threaded for a brake or suppressor. Twist rate is matched to chambering (1:8 for the 6.5 cartridges, around 1:11.25 for .308). It is purpose-built for backcountry hunters who count every ounce.

Background
Seekins Precision, best known for its AR receivers and PRS-grade Havak HIT, built the Element to chase the opposite end of the spectrum: the lightest possible Havak for mountain hunters, using a novel aluminum-sleeved barrel to cut weight that conventional fluting alone could not.
