Overview
The Sero Gepard GM6 Lynx is a Hungarian semi-automatic anti-materiel rifle in a compact bullpup configuration, chambered in .50 BMG or 12.7x108mm. The GM6 Lynx is the latest and most advanced member of the Gepard anti-materiel rifle family, distinguished by its revolutionary long-recoil operating system where the entire barrel reciprocates rearward upon firing, absorbing energy and reducing felt recoil to manageable levels. The bullpup layout keeps overall length to just 1,114mm despite the 730mm barrel, making it one of the most compact .50 caliber semi-automatic rifles ever produced. A unique transport mode locks the barrel in the rearward position, reducing the rifle to only 914mm for vehicle disembarkation, with a single button press deploying the barrel forward and chambering the first round.

The GM6 Lynx uses a long-recoil operating system where the barrel and bolt travel rearward together upon firing, with the barrel then returning to battery while the bolt is held to the rear to extract and eject the spent case. This system dramatically reduces felt recoil compared to other .50 caliber rifles. The barrel can be locked in the rear position for transport, reducing the rifle's length to 914mm and allowing easy storage in vehicles. Pressing a release button slides the barrel forward and chambers a round from the magazine, making the rifle combat-ready in seconds. The GM6 Lynx has entered the American civilian market through Sero USA and has garnered attention from military users, particularly Ukraine during the ongoing conflict with Russia.
