Overview

The Shadow Systems MR920 is a compact striker-fired semi-automatic pistol chambered in 9x19mm Parabellum, designed and manufactured in Plano, Texas. Introduced at SHOT Show 2020, the MR920 is Shadow Systems' flagship compact pistol built on a Glock 19-compatible platform with significant enhancements to ergonomics, accuracy, and durability. The pistol features a match-grade 416R stainless steel spiral-fluted barrel, a 17-4 PH stainless steel slide with a patent-pending universal optic cut, and a proprietary polymer frame with interchangeable backstraps offering three grip angle options including a neutral angle and a 1911-style angle. The MR920's frame incorporates an extended beavertail, aggressive trigger guard undercut, and a support-hand thumb ledge for improved recoil management. Standard features include Ameriglo tritium night sights, a flat-faced aluminum trigger, a steel captured guide rod with chrome silicon spring, and a flared magazine well. Compatible with Glock 19 holsters, magazines, and accessories, the MR920 is available in Combat, Elite, and Foundation trim levels, with the Elite adding top serrations and a weight-reducing window cut to the slide.

Notes

The MR920 Combat is the standard model with front and rear slide serrations. The Elite adds top slide serrations and a window cut for weight reduction. The Foundation Series is the entry-level variant with simplified features at a lower price point. The MR920L is a long-slide variant with a 5-inch barrel on the compact frame, available only as an Elite model. All MR920 barrels are 416R stainless steel and are rated for +P ammunition and lead-cast bullets. The slide is machined from 17-4 PH stainless steel with a nitride coating. The optic cut uses a spacer system for universal red dot sight compatibility. Magpul GL-9 15-round magazines are included standard. The trigger system is based on the Glock Gen3 trigger bar architecture with improvements. Shadow Systems was founded in 2016 by Trevor Roe and employs combat veterans, former law enforcement officers, and competitive shooters.

Background

The MR920 is built on a Glock 19-compatible platform but improves upon it with a match-grade spiral-fluted barrel, universal optic cut, and a proprietary frame offering three different grip angles including a 1911-style option. Shadow Systems was founded by combat veterans and competitive shooters specifically to build what they considered the ideal duty/carry pistol.
