Overview
The Shadow Systems MR920P Elite is the compensated variant of the MR920 Elite compact pistol, featuring an integrated all-steel compensator that directs propellant gases upward to reduce muzzle rise and improve shot-to-shot speed. Chambered in 9x19mm Parabellum, the MR920P uses a patent-pending quick-detach (QD) compensator system with a proprietary 3-lug muzzle rather than conventional threads, allowing tool-free removal via a centrally located locking lever. The compensator adds only half an inch to the overall length, bringing the total to approximately 7.625 inches while still fitting in standard Glock 17 holsters. The 4.25-inch spiral-fluted barrel is made from 416R stainless steel with a titanium carbo-nitride (TiCN) finish. The Elite-grade 17-4 PH stainless steel slide features directional front, rear, and top serrations, a weight-optimizing window cut, and Shadow Systems' patented multi-footprint optic cut that accepts popular micro red dots without adapter plates. The ergonomic polymer frame includes interchangeable backstraps for adjustable grip angle, extended beavertail, aggressive trigger guard undercut, thumb shelf, and flared magazine well. The drop-safe flat-face aluminum trigger delivers a crisp 4.5-5.0 lb pull with tactile reset. Standard sights are a green-outline tritium front with serrated rear. Compatible with Glock 19 Gen 3-5 magazines, the MR920P Elite weighs approximately 21.5 ounces unloaded and is rated for +P ammunition.

Notes
The 'P' designation in the MR920P stands for the integrated compensator package. Unlike traditional threaded-barrel compensators, the QD system uses a proprietary 3-lug attachment that locks positively without rotation, making it faster to install and remove while maintaining a more consistent barrel-to-comp alignment than threaded designs. This approach also allows the MR920P to be sold in jurisdictions that prohibit threaded barrels. The slightly shorter 4.25-inch barrel (vs 4.5 inches on the standard Elite) combined with the compensator keeps the overall package compact enough to fit Glock 17 holsters. The compensator noticeably reduces felt recoil and muzzle flip, making the MR920P particularly popular among competition shooters and those prioritizing fast follow-up shots. Ships with two 15-round Magpul PMAG magazines. Model number SS-1211 (bronze barrel) and SS-1212 (black barrel).
Background
The MR920P Elite represents Shadow Systems' answer to the growing demand for factory-compensated duty pistols. Rather than simply threading a barrel and screwing on an aftermarket comp, Shadow Systems engineered a proprietary quick-detach system that maintains tighter tolerances than threaded designs while being faster to service. The result is a compact pistol that shoots remarkably flat for its size, with the compensator adding minimal length and weight. The MR920P helped establish the factory-compensated compact pistol as a legitimate category in the handgun market.
