Overview

The SIG MCX-Spear LT is a lightweight, multi-caliber gas-piston carbine introduced by SIG Sauer in 2022 as a downsized civilian companion to the 6.8mm MCX Spear. Built on the third-generation MCX platform, it uses a short-stroke gas piston operating system and a tool-less quick-change barrel system that allows the user to switch between 5.56 NATO, .300 AAC Blackout, and 7.62x39mm chamberings. The rifle features fully ambidextrous controls, a non-reciprocating side-charging handle, an M-LOK free-floating handguard, and a side-folding adjustable stock. The 16-inch 5.56 NATO rifle weighs approximately 7 lbs 7 oz unloaded.
