Notes
The P227 addressed the limited capacity of the single-stack P220 while maintaining similar ergonomics. Extended 14-round magazines were available. Pennsylvania State Police replaced the P227 with the Walther PDP in 2024 due to parts availability issues after discontinuation.
Background
The P227 was SIG Sauer's answer to the demand for a high-capacity .45 ACP duty pistol, offering 10+1 rounds in a double-stack magazine where the older P220 held only 8. Pennsylvania State Police replaced it with the Walther PDP in 2024 after parts became scarce following discontinuation.
