Notes
The P320 Nitron Compact is functionally identical to the P320 Compact in terms of dimensions, weight, and mechanical operation. The primary differences are the Nitron finish designation (which has become the standard finish across most P320 variants) and the inclusion of SIGLITE tritium night sights rather than contrast sights. In practice, many retailers and SIG Sauer's own catalog use 'P320 Compact' and 'P320 Nitron Compact' interchangeably, as the Nitron finish has become the default production finish. The Nitron Compact is available in 9mm, .40 S&W, and .357 SIG. Some Nitron Compact models also ship in a Coyote Brown finish option. The three-point takedown system and modular FCU are identical to all other P320 variants. MSRP is approximately $580-$650.
Background
The Nitron finish takes its name from SIG Sauer's proprietary PVD coating process, which deposits a thin, hard layer of material onto the stainless steel slide at the molecular level. This creates a surface that is more resistant to corrosion and wear than traditional bluing or parkerizing while maintaining the clean matte black appearance that has become synonymous with SIG Sauer pistols. The P320 Nitron Compact represents the entry point into the P320 modular platform, offering the full modularity and reliability of the system at the most accessible price point.
