Also known as: P320 XCompact, P320 X-Compact, XCompact
Overview
The SIG Sauer P320 X-Compact is a compact striker-fired pistol from SIG's enhanced X-Series line, built on the modular P320 platform. Introduced in 2019, the X-Compact pairs a 3.6-inch (91mm) subcompact-length barrel and slide with a redesigned compact XCompact grip module that accepts 15-round flush-fit magazines. Weighing 717 grams (25.3 oz) unloaded with an overall length of 178mm (7.0 inches), the X-Compact delivers a comprehensive package of X-Series enhancements over the standard P320 Compact. Key upgrades include a flat-faced trigger for improved leverage and a more consistent pull, an optics-ready slide milled for direct-mount reflex sights, SIG X-RAY3 tritium day/night sights, an extended beavertail and high-undercut trigger guard for a higher grip, and a redesigned modular polymer grip with a reduced fastback carry cut and low-profile internal magwell. The slide features SIG's signature trapezoidal lightening cuts to reduce reciprocating mass. At 178mm overall length and 135mm in height, the X-Compact is notably smaller than the X-Carry while retaining 15+1 capacity, making it one of the most popular compact concealed carry pistols in the P320 family.

Notes
The X-Compact was introduced at SHOT Show 2019 and quickly became one of the best-selling P320 variants. It uses a unique XCompact grip module that is slightly smaller than the Carry grip but larger than the Subcompact grip, creating a new size category within the P320 ecosystem. The 15-round magazines are specific to the XCompact and are not interchangeable with the 17-round Carry/Full-size magazines or the 12-round Subcompact magazines, though the X-Compact will accept 17-round and 21-round extended magazines. The flat trigger is approximately 90% pre-travel compared to the curved trigger on standard P320 models, resulting in a slightly lighter perceived pull of approximately 27 newtons (6 lbs). Like all P320 variants, the X-Compact shares the same serialized fire control unit and benefits from the full modularity of the platform. Current models ship with optic-ready slides and two 15-round steel magazines. MSRP starts at approximately $720. Available only in 9mm, unlike some other P320 variants that offer multi-caliber options.
Background
The X-Compact filled a gap in the P320 lineup that shooters had been requesting since the X-Carry debuted in 2018 - an X-Series pistol with a truly compact footprint suitable for everyday concealed carry. Its introduction coincided with the growing trend of compact, optics-ready pistols, and the X-Compact was one of the first factory P320 models to ship with an optic-ready slide as standard. The XCompact grip module's 'fastback' carry cut became a distinctive design element that was later adopted across other P320 X-Series models.
