Smith & Wesson M&P FPC 5.7
Smith & Wesson · Carbine · In Production · 2026
Also known as: S&W FPC 5.7, M&P FPC 5.7x28
Overview
The Smith & Wesson M&P FPC 5.7 is a 5.7x28mm chambering of S&W's Folding Pistol Carbine, introduced for 2026. It keeps the FPC's signature center-folding design - the carbine folds in half so a mounted optic stays in place - and adds an integrated recoil-buffer system to tame the 5.7 cartridge. The 16.25-inch barrel wears a 1/2x28 threaded muzzle, and it feeds from S&W 5.7-pattern pistol magazines.

Notes
Distinct from the original 9mm M&P FPC. Ships with three 22-round magazines and a proprietary loading tool. Unfolded length 30 3/8 in; folds to 16 3/8 in with QD sling mounts on the stock and handguard sides.
Background
The FPC folds in the middle rather than at the stock, so a shooter can leave a red dot or magnified optic mounted and zeroed while the whole carbine collapses to roughly the length of its own barrel for backpack storage.
