The Smith & Wesson M&P 9 M2.0 Compact is a compact, polymer-framed, striker-fired semi-automatic pistol chambered in 9x19mm Parabellum, introduced in 2017 as part of the M&P M2.0 second-generation lineup. Designed to compete directly with the Glock 19 in the compact duty/CCW segment, the M&P 9 M2.0 Compact features a 4.0-inch stainless steel barrel, 7.3-inch overall length, and 15+1 round capacity, achieving virtually identical dimensions to its Austrian rival while offering Smith & Wesson's distinctive 18-degree grip angle for a more natural point of aim. The M&P 9 M2.0 Compact ships with two 15-round magazines. The pistol is also available in a 3.6-inch barrel variant for users who prefer a smaller package. Optics-ready versions with a milled slide for red dot sight mounting are available and designated with the 'OR' suffix. The Performance Center Carry Comp variant features a ported barrel and slide for reduced muzzle rise. The Compact uses the same frame size and magazine compatibility as the full-size M&P 9 M2.0 with the 15-round magazines, though full-size 17-round magazines will also function with a slight protrusion. Available with or without an ambidextrous manual thumb safety.
