Overview
The Smith & Wesson M&P10 M2.0 is a full-size, striker-fired semi-automatic pistol chambered in 10mm Auto, introduced in 2021 as an expansion of the M&P M2.0 platform into the potent 10mm cartridge. Built on an enlarged M&P M2.0 frame, the pistol features a 4.6-inch stainless steel barrel with Armornite corrosion-resistant finish, a 1:10-inch right-hand twist with six grooves, and a stainless steel slide also treated with Armornite. The polymer frame incorporates Smith & Wesson's extended rigid embedded stainless steel chassis for enhanced structural integrity and a low barrel bore axis for reduced muzzle rise. At 29.3 ounces (831g) unloaded with an overall length of 7.9 inches (201mm), the M&P10 M2.0 is one of the few full-size polymer-framed pistols chambered in 10mm Auto that offers a 15+1 capacity. The slide is factory-milled with an optics-ready cut accommodating seven different red-dot mounting plates for co-witnessing with the included three-dot sights. The M2.0 flat-face trigger delivers a crisp 4-pound 4-ounce (19 N) pull with a tactile reset. Four interchangeable palmswell grip inserts (S, M, ML, L) allow the shooter to customize the grip circumference. The pistol ships with two 15-round magazines at an MSRP of $679.

Notes
The M&P10 M2.0 marked Smith & Wesson's first full-size polymer pistol offering in 10mm Auto, entering a market segment previously dominated by the Glock 20 and various 1911-platform 10mm pistols. The 10mm Auto cartridge delivers significantly more energy than 9mm or .45 ACP, making it popular for woods defense, hunting sidearm duty, and as a bear country companion. The M&P platform's 18-degree grip angle and aggressive grip texture help manage the 10mm's substantial recoil. The pistol is available in three barrel lengths: 4-inch compact, 4.6-inch standard, and 5-inch long-slide. A Performance Center Carry Comp variant adds an integrated PowerPort compensator for reduced muzzle rise. All variants feature the optics-ready slide. The FDE model adds a flat dark earth Cerakote frame and Armornite slide. The loaded weight estimate includes 15 rounds of 10mm Auto at approximately 13.9g each. MSRP ranges from $669-$799 depending on configuration.
Background
The M&P10 M2.0 arrived at a time of surging interest in the 10mm Auto cartridge, driven by outdoors enthusiasts seeking a powerful yet controllable sidearm for bear country and backcountry defense. Smith & Wesson's decision to chamber the proven M&P M2.0 platform in 10mm gave shooters a familiar, ergonomic package with the horsepower of Jeff Cooper's original wondercartridge. The 15-round capacity matched the Glock G20's capacity while offering the M&P's superior grip ergonomics and interchangeable palmswell system, making it an immediate competitor in the woods-gun and 10mm enthusiast markets.
