Overview
The Smith & Wesson M&P15-22 Sport is an AR-15-pattern semi-automatic rimfire rifle chambered in .22 LR, introduced in 2009 and one of the best-selling .22 rifles in the United States. Built almost entirely from polymer with an aluminum receiver, it operates by simple blowback and mimics the controls, ergonomics, and handling of a centerfire AR-15 at a fraction of the ammunition cost. The Sport configuration features a 16.5-inch threaded barrel, a 10-inch M-LOK handguard, a six-position adjustable stock, Magpul MBUS flip-up sights, and a 25-round magazine, making it a popular training and plinking rifle.
