Overview

The SOLGW M4-EXO2 is a duty-grade AR-15 carbine from Sons of Liberty Gun Works, built around a 16-inch government-profile 4150 chrome-moly-vanadium barrel with a 1-in-7 twist, QPQ nitride finish, and a mid-length gas system fed through an SOLGW Lo-Pro 4140 nitrided gas block. The rifle wears the free-floating EXO2 M-LOK handguard, premium SOLGW forged receivers, and an SOLGW bolt carrier group machined from Carpenter 158 steel with HPT/MPI testing. It served as SOLGW's value-focused patrol and home-defense rifle before being superseded by the EXO3 series in 2024.

Notes

The EXO2 was replaced in SOLGW's lineup by the M4-EXO3, which introduced the slimmer seven-sided rail and A5 buffer system. Barrel is 1/2-28 threaded with an M4 feed ramp extension and .750 gas block journal. Offered in 16-inch rifle, 14.5-inch pinned-and-welded, and 11.5-inch SBR/pistol configurations. Lifetime warranty.

Background

The EXO2 established the SOLGW formula of full-auto-rated, torture-tested reliability at an approachable price point, earning a following among patrol officers and home defenders before the EXO3 refined the platform.
