Overview
The Springfield Armory SAINT is a semi-automatic AR-15 pattern carbine chambered in 5.56x45mm NATO. Introduced in November 2016 as Springfield Armory's first entry into the modern sporting rifle market, it uses a direct impingement, mid-length gas system with a pinned gas block and a 16-inch Chrome Moly Vanadium barrel with a 1:8 twist and Melonite finish. The forged 7075 T6 aluminum upper and lower receivers are joined by an Accu-Tite tension system, and it ships with a free-floating M-Lok handguard, a nickel boron coated GI-style trigger, and flip-up sights. The SAINT was named American Rifleman's 2017 Tactical Gun of the Year.
