Springfield Armory Echelon 4.5F Comp
Springfield Armory, Inc. · Pistol · In Production · 2024
Also known as: Echelon 4.5F Comp, Echelon Comp
Overview
The Springfield Armory Echelon 4.5F Comp is an integrally compensated, full-size variant of the striker-fired Echelon pistol chambered in 9mm. It adds a single port cut into the top of the hammer-forged slide and barrel that redirects propellant gas upward to reduce muzzle rise and felt recoil, enabling faster and flatter follow-up shots. Like the standard Echelon, it uses Springfield's Central Operating Group serialized chassis, fully ambidextrous controls, the Variable Interface System optics mounting, and interchangeable backstraps. The 4.5-inch barrel and optics-ready slide are paired with a tritium/luminescent front sight and a tactical rack U-dot rear sight. The pistol ships with both a flush-fit 17-round magazine and an extended 20-round magazine.

Background
The Echelon Comp answered a market shift: by the mid-2020s the integral single-port compensator had migrated from race guns and custom shops into mainstream carry and duty pistols, and Springfield cut the port directly into the Echelon's hammer-forged slide and barrel rather than bolting on a separate device.
