Overview

The Springfield Armory Model 2020 Heatseeker is a compact, chassis-based bolt-action precision rifle introduced in 2025. Built on Springfield's custom-grade Model 2020 stainless steel action (dual locking lugs, fluted bolt, EDM raceways) and a Sharps Bros. Heatseeker 6061-T6 billet aluminum chassis, it blends bolt-action precision with AR-style modularity. It is offered in 6.5 Creedmoor and .308 Winchester with carbon-fiber-wrapped, suppressor-ready barrels in 16, 20, and 22-inch lengths, a 14-inch free-float M-Lok handguard, a TriggerTech Field trigger, a B5 Systems collapsible precision stock, and a 0.75 MOA accuracy guarantee. MSRP is $2,355.

Background

The Heatseeker drops a precision-grade bolt action into a Sharps Bros. AR-pattern aluminum chassis, so the rifle wears an AR-15 grip, M-Lok handguard, and collapsible stock - it looks like a black rifle but cycles one round at a time with a sub-MOA guarantee.
