Overview

The Springfield Armory SAINT Edge ATC (Accurized Tactical Chassis) is a precision-focused AR-15 rifle chambered in .223 Wylde, designed to deliver sub-MOA accuracy from a factory semi-automatic platform. The ATC's defining feature is its monolithic lower receiver and handguard system, which ensures the barrel, barrel nut, and gas system are completely free-floated with zero contact to the chassis structure. This one-piece design eliminates the flex points and harmonics disruption inherent in traditional two-piece AR receiver/handguard combinations. The 18-inch Ballistic Advantage Melonite-treated barrel with a 1:7 twist is optimized for heavier match-grade bullets, and the .223 Wylde chamber allows safe and accurate firing of both .223 Remington and 5.56 NATO ammunition with improved accuracy over standard 5.56 chambers. The rifle ships with Springfield's proprietary flat-faced modular match trigger and a B5 Systems Enhanced SOPMOD stock.

Notes

The .223 Wylde chamber is a hybrid design that splits the difference between .223 Remington and 5.56 NATO chamber dimensions, providing the accuracy advantages of the tighter .223 Remington chamber while maintaining full compatibility with higher-pressure 5.56 NATO ammunition. Springfield guarantees sub-MOA accuracy with three-shot groups using match-grade ammunition. The monolithic chassis eliminates the traditional junction between lower receiver and handguard, creating a rigid, single-piece platform. The ATC Elite variant adds a Coyote Brown Cerakote finish and 30-round magazine. At approximately 9.5 pounds, the ATC is heavier than standard SAINT Edge models, reflecting the mass of the monolithic chassis.

Background

The SAINT Edge ATC represents Springfield Armory's most accuracy-focused AR-15, with its monolithic chassis design borrowed from precision competition rifles to guarantee factory sub-MOA performance.
