Overview
The Staccato C (2024) is the refreshed compact variant of Staccato's acclaimed 2011 platform, a double-stack 1911-style pistol engineered for duty, competition, and concealed carry. The 2024 revision brings significant upgrades including a DLC (Diamond-Like Carbon) coated bull barrel, a crisp flat trigger with 4-4.5 pound pull weight, X-series slide serrations, and factory optics-ready capability. Built on a billet-machined 7075 aluminum frame with a stainless steel slide, the Staccato C offers the precision and trigger quality of a 1911 with modern double-stack capacity. The 4-inch fluted bull barrel provides excellent accuracy in a package that measures 7.6 inches overall. Available with either a full-size grip holding 17 rounds or a compact grip holding 15 rounds, the C model occupies the sweet spot between the full-size Staccato P and the subcompact CS. The 2024 model also features an external extractor for enhanced reliability, a toolless recoil system for easy maintenance, fiber-optic front sight, and windage-adjustable rear sight. At 26 ounces empty (without magazine), it balances portability with the recoil-taming mass needed for fast, accurate shooting.

Staccato (formerly STI International, renamed in 2020) pioneered the 2011 platform -- a modernized double-stack 1911 design. The company was originally founded in 1994 as Strayer-Tripp International by competition shooters Virgil Tripp and Sandy Strayer. The 2024 C model represents the V3 generation of Staccato pistols, featuring fluted barrels for heat dissipation and debris clearance, DLC coating for corrosion resistance, and a Series 80 firing pin block for enhanced drop safety. The external extractor (replacing the traditional 1911 internal extractor) provides more consistent extraction and is easier to maintain. The flat trigger is a departure from the earlier curved trigger option, providing a more consistent pull across the trigger face. The frame uses 7075-T6 aluminum alloy, the same aerospace-grade material used in AR-15 receivers, providing an excellent strength-to-weight ratio. The 1:16 inch twist rate barrel is optimized for 115-147 grain 9mm projectiles.
Background
The 2011 platform was born from competitive shooting, where 1911 enthusiasts wanted the ergonomics and trigger of a single-action pistol with modern double-stack capacity. Staccato has since pivoted from a competition-focused brand to a mainstream duty and carry brand, earning widespread adoption among US law enforcement. Todd Jarrett, one of the most decorated competitive shooters in history, is a Staccato brand ambassador and helped showcase the 2024 C at SHOT Show 2024.
