Notes
Staccato (formerly STI International, founded in 1994 by Virgil Tripp as Tripp Research) rebranded in May 2020. The '2011' designation refers to the double-stack evolution of the 1911 platform, not the year. The C2's ODS (Officer Double Stack) frame is a shortened grip designed for the 16-round officer-length magazine while retaining compatibility with full-size Staccato magazines. The bull barrel design eliminates the barrel bushing found in traditional 1911/2011 pistols, contributing to improved accuracy. Available barrel options include stainless steel or DLC-coated, threaded or non-threaded. The Recoil Master system manages recoil impulse in the compact platform. The width measurement of 33mm refers to grip width; overall width at the ambidextrous safeties is 37.8mm (1.49 inches).
Background
The 2011 platform evolved from Virgil Tripp's 1994 invention of the double-stack 1911 frame at STI International. The company rebranded to Staccato in 2020 and the C2 became their flagship carry gun, offering 16+1 capacity in a package that handles like a full-size competition pistol thanks to its single-action trigger.
