Overview

The Stag Arms STAG-9 is a 9x19mm Parabellum pistol-caliber carbine built on the AR-15 platform. Introduced as part of Stag's Model 9 series, it features a 16-inch heavy-profile, chrome-lined 4140 steel barrel with 1:10 twist, blowback operation (no gas tube), forged 7075-T6 aluminum upper and lower receivers with type-3 hard-coat anodizing, a 6-position collapsible stock, and a dedicated 9mm bolt carrier with integral shell deflector. It accepts Colt-style or Tavor stick magazines, with 32-round capacity standard and 10-round restricted-state versions available, and is uniquely offered in factory left-hand configurations.

Notes

Marketed for competition (USPSA PCC division), home defense, and recreational shooting. The successor PXC-9 platform replaces the older Model 9 series with a modernized free-float handguard, glock-magazine compatibility, and short-barrel pistol configurations.

Background

Stag Arms is one of the few US AR manufacturers to offer factory-built mirror-image left-handed rifles, including the STAG-9L variant with the ejection port on the left side - a feature most lefties otherwise have to hand-build to obtain.
