Overview
The Star 30M is a full-size, all-steel, double-action/single-action 9x19mm service pistol produced by the Spanish firm Star Bonifacio Echeverria between 1984 and 1993. An evolution of the earlier Model 28, it uses a Browning-type locked-breech action with the slide running on internal frame rails for improved accuracy, fed by a 15-round double-stack magazine. It served widely with Spanish security forces including the Guardia Civil and Spanish National Police.

Notes
The 30M is the steel 'military' length version; the related 30PK uses a lightweight alloy frame and a shorter barrel. The slide-in-frame-rail design is unusual and aids reliability and accuracy.
Background
The Star 30 series ran its slide inside the frame rather than over it, an inside-out layout that kept the action cleaner and the lock-up tighter than most contemporary service pistols.
