Overview
The Star Model 1919 is a Spanish blowback-operated semi-automatic pistol chambered in .32 ACP, built by Star Bonifacio Echeverria in the Eibar arms-making region. Introduced in 1919, the year the Star trade name was formally registered, it followed the classic Eibar-pattern pocket pistol layout with a fixed barrel, exposed hammer and detachable box magazine. It was produced in two types that differed in dimensions and magazine capacity, with the larger Type 1 carrying nine rounds and the more compact Type 2 carrying seven.

Background
The Eibar valley in the Spanish Basque Country had been a centre of arms manufacture for centuries, prized for its high-quality steel. The Model 1919 carried the newly registered Star name into this tradition of compact blowback Browning-pattern pistols.
