Overview
The Star Model DK Starfire is a compact single-action, blowback-operated semi-automatic pocket pistol chambered in .380 ACP. Produced by the Spanish firm Star Bonifacio Echeverria from 1956 as a lightweight modification of the earlier Model D, it uses an aluminum alloy frame to keep weight down to around 14.5 ounces. Guns imported into the United States by Firearms International (Interarms) were marked 'Starfire', while pistols not made for export were simply marked as the DK model.

Background
The Star Model DK was one of a family of compact Spanish pocket pistols marketed in America under the evocative 'Starfire' name by importer Firearms International; the split between the domestic 'DK' marking and the export 'Starfire' marking makes the two names effectively synonymous among collectors.
