Star Model I

Star Bonifacio Echeverria, S.A. · Pistol · Discontinued · 1932

Also known as: Star I, Star Modelo I

Overview

The Star Model I is a compact blowback-operated semi-automatic pistol chambered in .32 ACP, produced in Spain by Star Bonifacio Echeverria, S.A. from the early 1930s. It was essentially the earlier Star Model F pocket pistol enlarged internally to accept the larger 7.65mm Browning cartridge, retaining the same external frame and slide dimensions. A single-action design with a 4-inch barrel and a detachable box magazine, the Model I served as a civilian and commercial self-defense sidearm, and an improved variant with a thumb-position manual safety was produced through the early 1940s.
