Overview
The Steyr SSG M1 is an Austrian bolt-action sniper rifle built on a folding aluminum chassis and centered on a quick-change barrel system that lets the operator swap barrels and calibers between .308 Winchester, 6.5 Creedmoor and .338 Lapua Magnum. It carries Steyr's Safe Bolt System, a four-lug bolt with a 60-degree lift, an adjustable trigger and a cold hammer-forged barrel, feeding from a 10-round detachable box magazine.

Background
The SSG M1 continues the lineage of Steyr's SSG 69, whose legendary accuracy set the template for the modern military bolt-action sniper rifle. Where the SSG 69 was a fixed wooden-stocked classic, the M1 embodies the modular chassis era: one rifle, three cartridges, swapped in the field.
