Background
The STV-380 is the result of Vietnam's ambitious program to achieve self-reliance in defense manufacturing by 2030. After licensing the Galil ACE in 2014, Vietnamese engineers immediately began adapting it, creating prototypes designated GK1 and GK3 that blended Israeli precision with Soviet reliability. The final STV design maintains compatibility with 70 years of AK magazine stockpiles while bringing Vietnamese small arms into the 21st century.
