Notes

The PT-58 is essentially a .380 ACP version of the PT-92 platform, offering high capacity in a relatively mild-recoiling package. The 13-round magazine capacity was exceptional for .380 ACP at the time of introduction.

Background

Taurus's semi-automatic pistol development accelerated dramatically after acquiring Beretta's Brazilian manufacturing facility in 1980, and the company has since developed an increasingly independent lineup of original designs alongside their proven Beretta-derived models.
