TH stands for Taurus Hammer, distinguishing it from striker-fired models. The TH series (TH9, TH40, TH45) replaced the PT-809/840/845 models with improved ergonomics and features. The TH9C is a compact version with 3.5-inch barrel and 13-round capacity.
