Overview
The Tikka M77K is a Finnish break-action over/under combination gun (Bockbüchsflinte) built by Tikkakoski, pairing a smoothbore 12-gauge shotgun barrel on top with a rifled barrel beneath it. Developed as Tikka's answer to the Valmet combination-gun system, the hammerless boxlock action is fired by double triggers and fitted with a shotgun-barrel ejector, a flip-up rear sight over the rifle barrel and provision for a scope. The most common configuration mates a 12/70 (2 3/4 inch) shotgun barrel over a .222 Remington rifle barrel, though examples were also chambered for 5.6x52R and other centerfire rifle cartridges, making it a versatile mixed-game hunting arm.

Notes
Rifle barrel offered in several chamberings across the model's run, most commonly .222 Remington but also 5.6x52R (.22 Savage Hi-Power), 5.6x50R Magnum and .308 Winchester; the 12-gauge smoothbore was typically full-choked. Barrel lengths of roughly 55-63.5 cm (about 22-25 inches) are recorded. The combination-gun line was discontinued after Sako's acquisition of the Tikkakoski rifle business at the end of the 1980s, and surviving examples are considered rare, especially in North America.
Background
Tikka built the M77 to muscle into the same mixed-game hunting niche dominated by fellow Finn Valmet's combination guns - a single break-open arm that let a hunter answer either a flushing bird or a bounding deer without swapping firearms.
