Overview

The Tikka T1x is a Finnish bolt-action rimfire rifle introduced in 2018, designed and built by Sako alongside the centerfire T3x. Its key innovation is sharing the T3x action footprint - the receiver bolts to T3x stocks and chassis, accepts T3x scope rings and accessories, and uses an identical adjustable trigger. This makes the T1x a true centerfire-companion trainer, allowing shooters to practice on inexpensive .22 LR (or .17 HMR) ammunition with the exact same ergonomics as their hunting or precision rifle. The crossover-profile cold-hammer-forged barrel offers heavy-barrel rigidity at sporter weight, the bolt throw is a fast 45 degrees, and the muzzle is factory threaded for a suppressor.

Background

Sako designed the T1x specifically so a hunter or precision shooter could drop the rimfire receiver into their existing T3x chassis and train on .22 LR with identical trigger feel and grip ergonomics - effectively turning a $549 rimfire into a perfect understudy for a $5,000 precision build.
