Overview
The TOZ-78 is a .22 LR bolt-action rifle developed by the Tula Arms Plant in 1986 as a successor to the earlier TOZ-17 series. Built as a hunting and sporting carbine, it feeds from detachable 5- or 10-round box magazines and features a free-floating barrel, a checkered hardwood stock and forend, adjustable iron sights, an adjustable trigger, and a dovetail for mounting optics. It is offered in numerous sub-variants, including threaded-muzzle and heavy-barrel models, and has been exported under names such as the Winchester Wildcat.
