Overview
The TOZ-BM is a Soviet break-action, side-by-side double-barreled hunting shotgun produced by the Tula Arms Plant from 1957 to 1968. An improved development of the earlier TOZ-B, it uses external hammers and double triggers, most commonly chambered in 16 gauge with 70 mm chambers, the right barrel bored cylinder or modified and the left barrel full choke. It was one of the most widespread affordable hunting guns in the USSR.

Notes
The 'BM' designation denotes the modernized ('modernizirovannaya') version of the TOZ-B. Also produced in 20 and, in limited numbers, 12 gauge.
Background
A staple of Soviet-era hunting, the hammer-fired TOZ-BM was so common and inexpensive that generations of Russian hunters learned to shoot on one, and surviving examples still turn up in gun cabinets across the former USSR.
